Q -
The beeper is too loud, how can I make it quieter?
A - You can use a simple resistor in series with the beeper, see
here.

|
Q - Can I use the Shift
Beeper on other cars or will it only work on the S2000?
A - The standard Shift Beeper will work on any 4, 6, 8, or 10-cylinder engine that has a
digital tachometer signal. Generally any car with electronic fuel
injection and an ECM or ECU will provide a digital tach signal, so that covers a
lot of cars. The Shift Beeper should NOT be used on older cars with
distributor/points/coil type ignition systems, as it could damage the Shift
Beeper module.

Q - Can I use a light or
different sounder with the Shift Beeper?
A - Absolutely. I encourage users to try different indicators and see what
works best for them. You can use any 12v DC device that draws less than
1/2 amp of current (500 milliamps).

|
Q - Can I mount the
Shift Beeper module anywhere I want?
A - Not quite. Do NOT mount it in the
engine compartment or anyplace that will get wet or disgustingly hot or cold.
Anywhere in the interior or under the dash should be fine. You can extend
the wiring as necessary. The module draws less than one amp so 18 gauge
wire is sufficient for power, and 22 gauge for everything else.

Q - I have
trouble hearing the beeper, what can I do?
A - That's not likely to happen
with the new, louder beeper, but if you're running open exhaust you might have
trouble hearing the beeper. In that case you have some options:
1. Either move the beeper closer to the driver
or install a second or louder beeper.
2. Install a light instead. It will still provide the 3 equally-spaced
pacing flashes so you can time your shift perfectly.
